Understanding the End to know the Beginning. Part 2

Uncle Handsome now explains his interior concept...

Porch

Once the base is completed, he chose the finishing touches to give the porch a proper appearance. To follow the trend as before this, he used natural slates because of its rugged and tough exterior. The warm brown colour tones of the tile makes up keeping easy and appealing. And if he ever decide to give it a new look all he needs to do is give it a nice coat. However, time does take a toll on this material because in the long run in wear and tear; pieces of slate is chipped away bit by bit. But that is considered out of date. Nowadays, tiles are in trend. These are longer lasting, durable, easily maintained; a definite improvement.

Column and Beams

Each column and beam on its own, has a bare concrete look. So to clean up the look of the interior and to fit with the theme...

He used wooden panels to cover up after he knocked down the center, creating an open counter looking into the kitchen.

For some, he painted, while others he used a  spray stone finish.

Flooring

Upon the 4 inch thick concrete, he puts marble slabs, mixing and matching the patterns to his liking. He uses this material throughout the ground floor of the house.
Staircase

From the staircase onwards to the first floor, he uses laminated flooring.

Partition

I am unsure  if the place of this partition was previously a wall that  was knocked down, nevertheless Uncle Handsome installed this to separate the living room from the dining area.

Ceiling

For the ceiling, he put in precast  cornices that  he pre-ordered. this decorations was  the in-thing compared to the updated style where a minimalistic concept is favored. He then installed light trouffers as you can see from the image above.

Review and Reflection

To conclude, Uncle Handsome mentioned that most of the decisions made, he kept in mind whether each element and component added or subtracted will compliment the house as a whole. And if it did not, which from speaking to him he's been through it, a decisive alternative is important. For there will be times where somethings will not go as plan. Whether it be the colour coordination, difference in measurements, structure outcome and overall outlook. The point that he stresses on alot is the measurements and outlook because the the difference by even centimeters could make a big change. All in it was an enjoyable and knowledgeable experience for me.
